Soap Nuts Laundry Soap
$8.00
Soap nuts are berries that grow in India and Nepal. They contain high levels of saponin, a natural surfactant that acts like a detergent. They clean clothing safely, and leave no residue, which makes them perfect for sensitive skin and babies.
5 soap nuts are placed in a canvas drawstring bag (included) and put directly into the washer with clothing. This bag can be used for 5-10 loads, until the soap nuts begin breaking down. At that point, you can just toss them into your compost bin and start the process again. What could be easier, or more environmentally friendly?
Â
Soap nuts are great for:
Cloth diapers, they leave no residue, so will not affect the absorbency of the cloth
People with sensitive skin, psoriasis, eczema
Baby clothing
Normal and HE washing machines, as they are low sudsing
Any water temperature
Â
We recommend:
Pre-treating stains
Soaking soap nuts in boiling water for 10 minutes prior to use for heavily soiled loads
Occasionally using a natural, active oxygen cleaner along with the soap nuts to brighten whites
Â
Soap nuts are not actually nuts, so they are safe for those with nut allergies
